Biography

Kashyyyk was born on April 12, 1977, in Dallas, Texas, and raised in Mexico City.

His journey into music began in October 1987, when he discovered a profound passion for sound while exploring his parents’ record collection. From an early age, Kashyyyk was fascinated not only by music itself, but also by the systems that reproduced it. Using leftover components and discarded parts collected from friends of his parents, he began building his own speakers, often saving whatever money he could to pursue his dream of owning and creating his own sound systems.

At the age of 14, Kashyyyk’s insatiable curiosity for sound led him to a defining realization: simply listening to music was no longer enough—he wanted to understand how to create it himself. It was during this transformative period that he discovered his true calling through the guitar. Fueled by dedication and curiosity, he rapidly developed his skills under the guidance of his mentor, Maestro Felipe Souza.

By the age of 18, Kashyyyk had already established himself as a session musician and live performer. His musicianship led him to work with various bands and internationally recognized Latin artists, including names such as La Ley and Cristian Castro. This early professional experience opened the door to extensive travel, allowing him to immerse himself in diverse cultures, musical traditions, and creative environments around the world.

In 2000, at the age of 23, Kashyyyk decided to step away from touring and redirect his creative energy toward music production. Driven by both artistic vision and entrepreneurial spirit, he founded his own music production company, Panorama Studio. His work focused primarily on television, radio, and the production of independent pop-rock and hip-hop artists. This period allowed Kashyyyk to expand his technical knowledge, refine his studio experience, and work across multiple musical genres.

However, it was during this same period that Kashyyyk’s life took a transformative turn. He encountered the world of psychedelic music, and its possibilities resonated with him on a profound level. Captivated by the potential of this new musical language, he embarked on a personal and artistic exploration, determined to carve out a unique place within the psychedelic music landscape.

In 2005, Kashyyyk made his official debut with the track “Charly and Ervin,” released through Doof Records in Israel. The release introduced his approach to psychedelic music and marked his arrival on the international scene, propelling him further into the global psychedelic community.

In 2008, Kashyyyk embarked on his first major journey to Germany and Portugal, a pivotal moment in his career. He was invited to perform at festivals and gatherings including Boom Festival, the Psycrowdelica Floor at Full Moon Festival, and Psychedelic Wonderland Festival. This marked the beginning of a new chapter, as Kashyyyk’s music gained international recognition and his performances reached audiences across the global psychedelic circuit.

That same year, driven by a desire for creative independence, Kashyyyk founded Kamino Records, his own record label and artistic platform. Through Kamino Records, he released a significant part of his work while also creating a space dedicated to psychedelic music. The label allowed him to maintain artistic control, support other artists, and further develop his musical vision.

As time passed and new experiences shaped his evolution, Kashyyyk developed a distinctive sound within the highly technical and fast-paced realms of psychedelic music. Delving deeper into these styles, he began envisioning a faster evolution of what was considered standard at the time. Driven by experimentation, Kashyyyk played an important role in popularizing and helping establish the tempo of 200 BPM within the psychedelic underground, opening new avenues of creative expression for artists and listeners alike.

On April 19, 2020, Kashyyyk released his debut album, “Desert of the Real,” representing years of experimentation, technical development, and artistic exploration.

Beyond his solo work, Kashyyyk has contributed to the genre through numerous collaborations with artists including Kindzadza, Psykovsky, Cosmo, Highko, and many others. One of the most remarkable partnerships of his career is with Kindzadza, with whom he joined forces to create the project “Future Ripples.” The project was born in Cyprus in 2017, bringing together their respective approaches to psychedelic music.

In 2023, Kashyyyk expanded his collaborative work once again, joining forces with Audiopathik to create the project “Frequency Navigators,” further exploring new dimensions of high-speed psychedelic sound.

Parallel to his career as an artist, Kashyyyk has accumulated more than 25 years of experience in music production and mastering. He continues to work actively from his professional studio, developing new productions, collaborations, and creative projects while managing Kamino Records and providing professional mastering services through Kamino Masters. More than three decades after first discovering his fascination with sound, his path continues to be driven by the same curiosity that has always defined him: understanding sound, exploring its possibilities, and transforming it into new forms of musical expression.
